about

"Sporadic Disasters" is an observation on the world as we know it at this point in time, in the era of a pandemic. This whole project was an idea based around the restrictions of the Coronavirus and having to quarantine. I wanted to see if I could make a full-length album in the amount of time that it would take for the virus to go away, and here we are.

That being said, some of the material featured on this output stems from times earlier than the project was first conceived. A lot of this material was written between 2017 and 2019, including "Lament", "Morning Has Come", "Earth", and parts of the rest of "The Elements" suite in sections. (I had only started piecing them together in 2020.) "Maybe Just a Dream" - composed by Paul Martin - was originally written in 1993, and this is the first official release of that piece. The only pieces that I have written specifically for this album are all three parts of "Sporadic Disasters", and I believe that that is incredibly fitting.

I'd like to thank every one of the guest artists who took the time to record parts for the album, albeit mostly from their own homes. Because of their contributions, this has bloomed into something much greater than I'd ever thought it would turn out to be.

As this project finally ends after 16 months of work, a new project slowly develops. Thank you, and I hope you'll enjoy the world of "Sporadic Disasters".
